the protocol
When you have conducted the experiment, please fill out our post-experiment feedback form. Your contribution is a precious element for this revolutionary research!
Here is a checklist of items and considerations to have ready for the Laser Experiment Protocol:Β
Preparation:
π§Ή A clean and comfortable environment.
π No pending tasks or obligations that require immediate attention.
ποΈ Trash bags for cleaning the space.
π A positive state of mind.
π Conduct the experiment only during the day
Intake:
π¨ A vaporizer for administering the psychedelic molecule.
π Psychedelic substance (note: please ensure this is legal and safe in your jurisdiction and consult a medical professional for guidance).
β²οΈ A timer or clock to keep track of time between doses.
ποΈ A comfortable seating arrangement in front of the laser projection surface.
π« Optional: Dark chocolate to enhance the experience.
Working with the Laser:
π The Laser
𧱠 A surface to project the laser onto that is not too shiny or reflective.
π‘ Optional: An additional light source for ambient lighting.
π§ Optional: A glass of water to use for diffracting the laser.
π A notebook or a smartphone to note down observations.
π¨ Pen and paper to draw any things you experienced on the trip.
Β Β
Safety and Legal Considerations:
π Research the legality of the substances involved in your jurisdiction.
π¨ββοΈ Consult a medical professional for guidance on the use of psychedelic substances.
π¨ Ensure you have a basic understanding of laser safety.
β Do not force yourself to proceed if you feel any discomfort or anxiety.
Please proceed with caution and responsibility. This protocol involves the use of potentially dangerous lasers and substances. It is crucial to ensure your own safety and adhere to the laws of your location!
Laser Experiment Protocol
Preparation
Prioritize set and setting, similar to any other psychedelic experience.Β
Ensure you are in a positive state of mind, your surroundings are clean, and you have no immediate tasks to attend to.
Avoid forcing the experiment if you are experiencing physical discomfort or any potential distractions.Β
Approach the experience with ease and enjoyment, without pressuring yourself to accomplish specific tasks.
Create a clean space by attending to tasks such as throwing away trash. This promotes a sense of cleanliness and allows your mind to be present and fully immersed in the moment.
Conduct the experiment during the day as you have less energy at the end of the day.
Intake
It is recommended to use a vape for administering the psychedelic molecule.
This method simplifies the process and enables better focus as you delve deeper into the experience.Opt for a sub-breakthrough dose to ensure a sufficient amount of the molecule in your brain without impairing your ability to recall or move.
Achieving the right dosage can be done in two ways:
1. Launch:
Begin with a full breakthrough dose and, once you have returned and feel ready, position yourself in front of a surface near a laser. Take additional tokes as needed to explore further. However, if you don't feel called to do so after the trip or experience anxiety, it's perfectly fine to skip this step.
2. Incremental dosing:
Inhale one toke, wait for two minutes, repeat this process five or six times.
Afterward, you can reasonably assume that a launch won't occur for at least 40 minutes. Proceed to the surface and explore, taking tokes as necessary.
Working with the Laser:
Select a surface that is not too shiny to project the laser onto.
Position the laser at a distance that allows for a wide, yet adequately bright diffracted projection.
Ideally, have another light source in the room. While complete darkness can work, some ambient light improves the experience.
Sit two feet away from the surface where the laser will project.Β
Initially, focus on the area where the laser hits the surface, then shift your gaze beyond that point, as if looking through a window.
If you don't observe anything from this distance after a couple of minutes, move closer to the surface. Position yourself as close as possible, covering the eye on the same side as the laser to avoid direct exposure to the beam. Continue looking through the surface as if it were a window.
Look for any anomalies, such as structures or rotating motion. Concentrate on areas where you notice something out of the ordinary.
To confirm if you are looking in the right place, gently move the laser up and down while keeping your focus on the identified object. If the object maintains its location and motion independent of the light movement, you are observing the correct area. Stay focused on this region.
If the exploration takes longer than 20-30 minutes, take a short break.
Consuming dark chocolate, which increases serotonin levels, can enhance the effects of DMT.
Return and alternate between observing the surface up close and from a distance to gain different perspectives.
If you're still having difficulty, you can project the diffracted laser through a glass of water. The reason for its effectiveness is to be determined, but the refractive index of water helps see the characters with greater ease. You can look at the light hitting the surface after passing through the glass of water and also the little reflections inside the glass created by the laser. This step can be incorporated from the beginning, in which case explore the differences between the light that passes through the glass and the light that doesn't.
Repeat the process until you start perceiving clear characters in the laser projection. These characters should resemble Japanese Katakana characters and numbers 0-5, with occasional resemblances to Hebrew letters. Note that the characters may initially appear smaller than expected, but they will gradually become larger.
Importantly, the characters should be recognizable as some form of language, distinct from more ambiguous patterns like the Allyson Grey language.
As observed by Kirsten Rhode, practicing for 15 minutes with a stereogram, can be very helpful and being able to see the code faster and easier. Here are a few examples and you can search for more online.
Alternatively, you can practice by placing both palms of your hands one in front of another, and then changing from looking at the closer one to the further one and then back and forth. Notice what it feels like when you make this switch and focus on playing with that when you are looking at the projection of the laser.
